San Sebastian is known as the Foodie capital of Spain. So JetRob.com decided to visit one of the most famous 3 Michelin star restaurants in the city - Akelare.

This stunning restaurant is nestled in the mountains overlooking the Cantabrian Sea near San Sebastián (a.k.a. Donostia in Basque), Spain.

The Tasting Menu Journey

Chef Pedro Subijana creates sumptuous dishes extraordinary plating. My friend and I each chose a tasting menu and gorged our way through the food marathon. Each dish was simple and featured really fresh ingredients. My favourite was the prawns and french beans cooked table-side in "Orujo" (Spanish brandy) flame.

Throughout Spain we found numerous variations of Gin and Tonic. Akelare was no different. Their unique version of G&T contained gin, tonic, hibiscus tea and rose water. Very refreshing!

We really enjoyed the experience at Akelare!
